Basic
steps to submit a request for Remote Assistance using
Windows XP and sending the request as an attachment
You MUST
have already set up either Outlook Express or a
browser based e-mail program
for this to work as shown

Depending on how Windows XP is configured,
you should see
something similar to these two examples when you click
Start
and
Programs or

If you cannot find
"Remote Assistance"
from the
Start menu,
you can try
finding
"Remote Assistance"
through the
"Help and
Support Center"
Click Start
and then
click Help
and Support
If needed, Enter
"remote assistance"
into the
Search window
and click the
green arrow to
search for
remote assistance
and then click on
Invite a
friend to
connect to your
computer |

Invite someone to help you |

(3) Click on
Save invitation as a file (Advanced) |

(4A) Use the default name
or enter a new one under Enter you name |

(4B) From the pull down
menu chose 30 |

(4C) From the pull down
menu chose Days |
| |
(4D) Click on
Continue |

Enter a password under
Type password |

(5B)
Enter the same
password under Confirm Password |
| |
(5C) Click
Save Invitation |

Make sure you know what password you assigned to this Remote
Assistance Invitation and that your friend knows what password
you entered ! |

(6A) Give the file
a unique name by adding
today's date to the
filename |

To save the file,
click Save |

Please remember this location as you will need it when attaching
the Remote Assistance file to an e-mail message

Now you need to send the Remote Assistance request
file as an attachment in an
E-Mail message that you will send to the person you are requesting help
